Aloha from sunny Hawaii Virginia! Yes, indeed, it is a sunny warm day, and my feet are propped up as I sit poolside writing up my post. I am not sipping on a fruity cocktail, but I am sure enjoying summer vacation so far, and I hope you are too.
I am Carla from Comprehension Connection, and my post today is going to be focused on a summer blogging plan I came up with and am putting together with many of the gals here at Literacy Land as well as a few other reading specialist friends from The Reading Crew. Adventures in Literacy Land was started when we all got together a few years ago in a Facebook group called The Reading Crew. We were all blogging individually and Andrea proposed that we expand upon our areas of expertise to form a collaborative literacy blog where we could share a wider range of classroom ideas and techniques with more of you.
This summer, beginning tomorrow and each Wednesday following, we will be sharing ideas on each of the following topics. Some posts will include classroom freebies, while others will demonstrate lesson ideas and techniques for the topics chosen. The topics are broad to allow input from multiple grade levels, and all are welcome to join in with blog posts and/or comments on participating blogs. Here is the weekly schedule.
If you are interested in linking up with us, you can find all of the images for each post [here]. To get started, here is this week's image for Phonics and Phonemic Awareness as well as the posting directions.
Below you will find the posting directions, and all you need to do is stop by Comprehension Connection or any other Reading Crew blog. It should be lots of fun and give you lots of ideas for the new year.
Have a great summer. Rejuvenate and enjoy time with family.
